I would just like to find out what kind of support you should get from your mentor. I find that most of the monors in our company registered years ago and have very little idea of the procedures that are involved in registering in the new system. they not mentors they just sign things and have little idea of what we should be doing.

I am also registered under a mentorship program and I think the most important thing to remember is that you stay responsible for your own training and Pr. registration. Mentors tend to be busy thus if you do not speak up and ask you will stay in the dark. the ECSA website also has lots of information regarding what you and your mentor should be doing ( http://www.ecsa.co.za/index.asp?x=procedure ) have a look around there and at your Voluntary Association website for Civil it is http://www.saice.org.za they may also have courses you and your mentor can do.

Does anyone know of a good text book for learning Control Systems N6? As well a a website perhaps where more info in this regard can be acquired? Many books are available, but none directly for the subject in question.

I am a Mechanical Engineering graduate currently working in construction as a Trainee Mechanical Engineer. I have completed my Bsc Mech. I would like to know exactly what are the requirements to obtain a Pr Eng as well as a GCC. Any information with regard to these two qualifications as well as the reasons to strive to these goals would be appreciated. As a graduate should this be something of a high priority that I should strive for early in my career and what sort of responsibilities as well as avenues will this open up to me?
